Sun moved into Taurus on April 20

Last month, fiery Aries renewed our impulse to assert our spirit into the world. Now, Taurus grounds that intention into the physical, starting with the denseness of our bodies, extending out to all the practical, physical resources we need, and reaching further to that which we want and desire. Thank you, Taurus – I needed that.

Our inner Venus, ruling Taurus, responds to our earthy existence, and based on our likes and dislikes, needs and wants, pleasures and displeasures, it forms our values. It is our values that give shape to our life. When we know and commit to our values, we can infuse our Martian vitality into the physical resources that Venus attracts to us, thus creating that which pleases us. Through planting, building, business, artistic expressions, and relationships, we increase our sense of abundance and physical security. Taurus’s spiritual intention is to build our commitment to the physical world, rewarding our limited senses with delightful expressions of how spirit can express sacred beauty and love into physical form.

In the Taurus part of our humanity, we learn loyalty, patience, gratitude, persistence, endurance, commitment, and forgiveness. If conscious, we grow our self-worth and self-resourcefulness. We take action slowly, deliberately, honoring others needs, but respecting their boundaries and our own. We feel awareness and gratitude for Mother Earth, value our bodies, and enjoy the pleasures of our five senses. Fully conscious, we realize that the physical is only a reflection of the spiritual, and our values evolve to the intangible qualities of spirit, which then guides us to infuse our physical creations with love and beauty.

Our unconscious Taurus, by leaning too much into self and insensitivity to others, can let our need for physical and emotional security turn into attachment and accumulation, jealousy and possessiveness. Our need for self-worth can turn into stubbornness and greed; our enjoyment of pleasure turn into excessiveness and addiction.

Full Moon on May 3

With a Sun – Moon/Taurus – Scorpio polarity, these two luminaries will bring to light any of the following imbalances in your own life or the world: boundaries versus vulnerability, mine versus ours, stability versus change, physical versus emotional. The key to any imbalances may be found in Jupiter in Leo. It’s square to the Moon reflects a tendency toward apathy and self-indulgence. It’s square to the Sun tends toward an overly optimistic and idealistic ego. Together, it’s a call for humble discipline and realism.

Venus – Uranus – Pluto T Square

During the middle two weeks in May, as lover Venus squares individual Uranus and opposes willful Pluto, watch for how you apply your values to your personal relationships. Are you being authentic? Are you feeling empowered? Manipulative? Manipulated?

Venus trines Neptune

Halfway through May, Venus trines Neptune, bringing your need for personal love in harmony with your need for spiritual oneness and compassion. It’s a good time to heal your relationships, but you can also be taken advantage of by those who are needy or dishonest.

Jupiter trines Uranus

Independent orientated Uranus will continue to fuel Jupiter’s drive toward expansive awareness and growth. Learn how your values are informing sense of growth, or lack of it.

Good Taurus Activities in May

Build something. Plant something. Use your hands. Use your body. Enjoy sensuality. Plan your finances. Make and spend some money. Connect to the earth. Make a commitment to yourself and stick to it.

Good Taurus Questions To Ask Yourself In May

To heal and evolve your Taurus self, ask this: Do you know your own values, and are you willing to assert boundaries around yourself to help you uphold those values? Do you feel worthy of your needs and desires? Can you give yourself or ask for what you want without feeling selfish? When you feel stubborn, jealous, or possessive, can you sense your insecurities and create an inner security. What are your intangible values, and can you be flexible with how those show up in physical form.

Current Transits for April, 2015

By Barry Kerr

Sun moved into Aries on March 20

If the journey through the Zodiac, toward spiritual consciousness, seemed complete last month in Pisces, it begins again, in Aries. The Zodiac is actually a spiral. With each revolution, we find ourselves higher up the spiral, at a finer vibration, ready for another go-round, and reaching for even more creative mastery in this world of dualities.  Thus, Aries – here I am!

Aries bursts a new sense of self into the world. Our youthful, fiery spirit enters time and space, expressing our soul as a unique embodied being, and once again we experience the illusion of separation.

Our inner Mars asserts our right to be here, to claim our space, to pursue our desires, and build a personality through which our larger soul can creatively express. Each time in Aries, we are learning more about how to be independent, self-aware, and assertive. We strengthen our ego through self-nurturance and constructive self-interest.  Aries’ spiritual intention is to inspire and impel us to live, speak, and act as we feel driven, authentically and with vitality.

In Aries, we learn to trust our impulses, free of the need to please or be “nice”. We learn to moderate our giving to others, making sure we are fair with ourselves, too.  By enthusiastically and confidently sharing our talents, gifts and leadership, we inspire others to do the same, empowering them to join us as co-creators in this world.

Our unconscious inner Aries, if lacking enough experience in the art of relationship, can let our Martian assertiveness turn to aggression, overriding the needs or desires of others, insensitive to the feelings around us, with a willfulness that pushes others away and invites judgments of “selfishness”.  We see others as enemies who block our path.

Full Moon April 4

The Full Moon on April 4th is a lunar eclipse, increasing the manifesting effect of this monthly occurrence. The Sun opposite Moon will come in alignment with the remaining energy of the culminating Uranus-Pluto square that has been repeatedly churning up turmoil and transformation for over four years now. Add Mercury, Jupiter and the North Node to this alignment, and it could be a powerful three days.  Personal communications and world news may present sudden changes that challenge emotional equilibrium.  Trust your intuition (Uranus) to align with your rational mind (Mercury) to draw upon an expanded view (Jupiter) that lifts your emotions (Moon).  Practical Saturn will continue to square with idealistic Neptune, helping us ground our dreams into the “reality” of this world.

Venus and Mars will help ground us

As attractive Venus and desiring Mars move through Taurus during April, be clear how your values determine your wants and needs and how you go about meeting them.  During this month, responsible Saturn will oppose these two planets and challenge you to be more conscious of your choices. How much is needed to bring comfort and pleasure? Excesses and distractions may be precipitate stress. Clarity and discipline will enhance authentic manifestations of desire.

Jupiter goes direct April 9

When Jupiter comes out of inwardly directed retrograde on April 9, be ready for opportunities to apply outward action toward personal and collective change. Independent orientated Uranus will continue to fuel Jupiter’s drive toward expansive awareness and growth as the Moon harmonizes with each planet to give emotional comfort to anxiety.

Good Aries activities in April

Do something, anything, impulsively, without a need to know why or for more information. Read a book or watch a video on how to assert yourself more confidently and with more grace, then go confront that person you’ve been afraid to address. Don’t pretend to like something you don’t. Say “no” without an excuse. Spend time with yourself, alone. Find ways to affirm your right to exist, to be on this earth, to express your self into this world. Feel a desire, a lust, and do something about it. Flirt. Try something spanking new to see if it’s you, or not. Make an assessment of your likes and dislikes and honor your right to feel as you do. Take leadership in a situation, for a minute, for a year. Be you.

Good Aries questions to ask your self in April

To heal and evolve your Aries self, aim for self-awareness. How well can you describe you? Your likes, dislikes, values? Are you willing to risk impulsive choices so as to learn what you value? Can you be calmly assertive or does your inner warrior angrily attack and ask questions later? Do you trust yourself? Do you puff yourself up when feeling unconfident? Are you overly concerned with what others think of you, what others need, and what’s fair and just?

Current Transits for Feb 26 – Mar 25, 2015

Posted on
Category: Current Transits

By Barry Kerr

Sun moved into Pisces on Feb 18th

In our journey toward an ever-expanding sense of self, Pisces brings us to knowing a oneness with all that is, that we are part and parcel of God. However, because our ego has been unaware of any direct experience of our divine connection, we have struggled through various substitutes, from religious martyrdom to drug addiction.

Pisces’ spiritual intention is to give us conscious access to our divine wholeness in infinite, eternal and unconditional love. We learn to be nonjudgmental and compassionate. We free our minds with meditation and self-reflection. We let go of any need to “fix” the world, and surrender our anxiety to a “higher power” and a divine plan. Our ego learns to relax totally, sometimes seeming non-existent. We feel at peace, not by denying worldly reality, but by incorporating divine reality.

Uranus/Pluto Square

On March 16, Uranus and Pluto square up (90 degrees) for the final of seven squares over two years. This is a very unusual and major event for all humanity, relating to social and economic unrest as the forces for individual rights and freedom (Uranus in Aries) have been battling with the forces of powerful corporations, governments and religions (Pluto in Capricorn). As individuals, our challenge is and will be to stand up for our selves in the face of overwhelming powers, and trust in a greater truth, larger vision, and loving universe to support transformative and positive change.

Saturn

Saturn’s continuing square with Neptune invites us to broaden our understanding of “reality” while keeping it grounded and in balance with our compassionate, intuitive knowing of and longing for a better world.

New Moon on March 20

The New Moon on March 20 sitting right on the cusp of Pisces/Aries, with Mercury conjoining Neptune in Pisces, invites our intentions to bring a new, divine awareness to our actions across the planet.

Jupiter Retrograding

Jupiter trines Uranus during March, promising plenty of opportunities for intuitive action toward change as active and willful Mars joins with Uranus. Because Jupiter is retrograding (backwards) into April, this isn’t the time for outward actions in the material world, which is what Jupiter usually invites. Rather, this is a time to go inward and apply higher understanding to our own moral behaviors. Thus, on the world stage and in our personal lives, we need to beware of overreacting to perceived danger with reckless actions.

Good Pisces activities in March

To align your energy with Pisces, spend some extra time alone. Meditate. Make or listen to music that opens your heart to feeling your divine connection. Pray. Invoke gratitude as often as you can remember. Forgive yourself and others as much as possible. As you greet others, those familiar and strangers, engage their eyes deeply and acknowledge them as fellow souls before addressing them as personalities. As you hear of world events, hold a prayer of forgiveness and peace for all parties. Contrary to any resistance from your logical mind, affirm a vision for the more beautiful world you know, in your heart, is possible. Know you are love, we are love, and all is perfect.

Good Pisces questions to ask yourself in March.

To heal and evolve your Pisces self, give attention to your spiritual awareness. Do you blame outside yourself? Do you feel alienated from God? Do you get confused around other people’s feelings? Can you feel compassion without needing to rescue? Do you trust the flow of life? Can you feel your divine connection to others, beyond just a concept? Do you meditate and spend time alone in self-reflection? Do you trust that this seemingly unfair and cruel world is actually perfect for all souls in it? Does that last question tend to annoy you?

Current Transits: January 22 – February 24, 2015

Category: Current Transits

By Barry Kerr

Sun moved into Aquarius on Jan 20

Aquarius’s spiritual intention is to teach us how to remain true to our unique vision while working as a team with others, collectively. Our inner Aquarius/Uranus knows, intuitively, that the authority of the status quo is temporary to the understandings of our limited senses, changing as consciousness evolves. Thus, we strive for the “ideal”, often feeling rejected or weary when the world doesn’t “get it”. We know, in our hearts, that we are all in this together, as equals.

Through Aquarius, we learn objectivity, equality, group participation and serving humanitarian causes. We learn to relate to others as whole individuals, not just their functions, recognizing

them as special, just like us.  We learn to share our intuitive and unconventional ideas with others and encourage them to do the same. This further taming of our ego creates friendships, camaraderie and “belonging”. We begin to experience the oneness of humanity as an extension of self.  The Lego Movie, deceptively childish-sounding, but very adult and metaphysical, illustrates this Aquarius/Leo polarity excellently. “Everything is awesome!”

Saturn in Sagittarius

Saturn has progressed forward into Sagittarius for the next two years or so. Saturn’s demand for realism and accountability will be aimed at our beliefs, therefore expect some major realistic turns in religion and science. Are the ways you are living, in the name of realism, actually aligned with your beliefs? Are you limiting what practical by limiting your beliefs?

Inner Planets

Mercury will be retrograde (backward) in Aquarius from Jan 21 to Feb 12. This will keep your mind questioning group endeavors and innovative changes in your life. That’s good, for now. Meanwhile, Venus and Mars advance into Pisces, bringing soulfulness to your relationships and desires. In late February, as Venus and Mars merge on the cusp of Pisces/Aries, romantic passion could evolve into mystical bliss.

New Moon on Feb 18

The moon and sun, joined right on the cusp of Pisces, and nearby Neptune will call to your spiritual heart; your longing for divine oneness. With Saturn squaring (90 degrees) this in Sagittarius, this longing may seem to conflict with your duty to reality, but you will “know” otherwise.  Under this New Moon, set your intention by the next Full Moon to experience the reality of the oneness of your soul with another. Venus and Mars will certainly be doing their part.

Good Aquarian activities into February

To align your energy with Aquarius, think outside the box. Question the status quo and invite future vision. Share your visions and gifts with friends, colleagues and networks. Notice who sees and appreciates your unique expression and align yourself with theirs, as equals, in mutual support. Quit groups when you don’t feel synergy happening. Make collaboration, teamwork, and unity your mantras.

Good Aquarian questions to ask yourself into February.

To heal and evolve your Aquarian self, pay attention to how well you do in groups. Do you strive to understand the group or do you insist on getting your own way? Can you follow your own heart and still work with a team, or do you do what’s expected in order to feel you belong? Do you treat others as whole and special or do you only see them as serving a particular function? Do you honor your intuition? Are you open to creating win/win situations? In a world that falls short of your ideals, can you still feel your loving connection to humanity and know you have a place?

Astrological Update for Dec 18, 2014 – Jan 22, 2015

by Barry Kerr

Sun moves into Capricorn on Dec 21

Capricorn’s spiritual intention is to teach us how to manifest our expansive loving visions into the world with ease and joyful fulfillment. Through Capricorn, we are learning control, discipline, orderliness and focus, both inwardly and outwardly. As we grow into an “adult” position of self-care, we accept responsibility for the life we are creating. We learn to focus on our goals, keep commitments and let go of the past. In maturity, we lead by example, build teams and hold others accountable with respectful compassion. We create a loving order.

Inner Planets

During January, Mercury, Venus and Mars are jumping ahead into Aquarius, thus prompting your mind, heart and will toward visionary possibilities for change and progress. However, Saturn, ruler of Capricorn, is squaring (90 degrees) Neptune, and challenging you to have confidence to take decisive actions toward your vision with heartfelt compassion for everyone, even those who oppose you.

Full Moon: Jan 3-5

The Full Moon in Cancer on January 4th is opposite the Sun and Pluto in Capricorn, creating a T-square with Uranus in Aries. The invitation here is to allow your feelings to bring awareness to your relationship to power, your own and others. Are you using your power to merely gain recognition and to stand out from the crowd? Do you look down on those who lack the will to use their power? In today’s complicated world, what is your authentic power?

Pluto square Uranus

The 6th of the recent Pluto/Uranus squares (90 degrees) occurred on December 15. The 7th, and final one, will occur this March 15-16. Uranus’s individualistic and freedom-loving dance with the collective, and often dark, powers of Pluto has been stirring up all sorts of issues in our planetary consciousness, from police brutality and CIA torture versus human rights to corrupted government versus free and open democracy to corporate psychopathy versus public welfare. It all keeps gushing forth, like hot lava, directly in our faces and leading to an inevitable earthquake-like transformation of our collective reality. Will enough people see through the matrix and claim their right to freedom? We can only hope. In the meantime, this Capricorn time is good for thinking through your own relationship to the powers that be and considering the practical issues one might face in times of change. Being in the world, but not of the world is the challenge.

Good Capricorn activities into January.

To heal and evolve your Capricorn self, get organized and take charge. It’s a good time to put into order anything that has been needing attention, whether it’s things, ideas or relationships. Take responsibility for things past, present and future. Make yourself accountable to others in areas you’ve been avoiding. Plan something, set a goal, commit to it and make decisions. Honor and recognize what you have accomplished thus far in your life. Give yourself credit and respect. Spend some time reflecting on how you’ve organized your life and to what extent you are living authentically, from your higher, loving self, bringing your soul’s true intentions into this world.

Good Capricorn questions to ask yourself into January:

To heal and evolve your Capricorn self, pay attention to your ability to take charge of your life. Does life seem chaotic? Craving recognition? Do you respect and honor yourself? Do you try to manage people, even their feelings, yet avoid your own? Do you have a vision for yourself and the world? Are you willing to take responsibility, even leadership toward creating that vision? Or do you depend on others for that? Are you in integrity in all areas of your life? Do you trust your intuition to guide your choices? Are you willing to upset people to get things done?

Astrological Update for Nov 20 – Dec 18, 2014

by Barry Kerr

The Sun moves into Sagittarius on November 22:

Sagittarius’s spiritual intention is to inspire us to explore truth in all directions, not as beliefs, but as experience and knowing. A healthy, conscious Sagittarius is developing a sense of spontaneous freedom beyond the limits of our conditioned past, learning to trust intuition and divine guidance. Spending time alone and with nature, we learn to listen to our inner voice of higher self and speak from this source, uncensored. In maturity, we allow others to have their truths while we remain centered in our own.

Inner Planets:

During December, the Sun, Mercury and Venus will be transiting Sagittarius. This will

precipitate your desire to explore and communicate your truths with others. Mars will head into Aquarius by the 5th, increasing your motivation to be with friends and groups, especially if it allows for activities that challenge the status quo.

Full Moon: Dec 5-7

During the December 6th full moon in Gemini, let your heightened curiosity be applied toward your own willingness to speak and listen from intuition. Healing Chiron, in mystical Pisces, squares (90 degrees) the moon and sun, inviting an awakening to greater understanding and meaning to come to you through your attention to just “being” without need for argument or persuasion. Allow your heart to openly receive another’s beliefs and ideas and just sit in wonder.

Saturn and Chiron:

As Saturn, planet of structure and responsibility prepares to end it’s two and half year journey through Scorpio by the end of December, entering Sagittarius for the next two and half years, it will be squaring (90 degrees) Chiron, the wounded healer during all of December. It’s a good time make yourself accountable for any unfinished apologies or forgiveness in your intimate relationships. Doing so will put you in a good position to reap the rewards of expanded awareness in those same relationships, with promising adventures to follow.

Good Sagittarian activities into December.

To heal and evolve your Sagittarius self, be more adventurous. Explore inwardly and outwardly. Travel. Read an inspiring book. Spend time alone and in nature. Notice how you experience your truth, your beliefs and your responses to others.

Good Sagittarian questions to ask yourself into December:

Do you cling to the familiar? Do you prejudge situations based on past experience? Are you able to listen to others intuitively, hearing the meaning behind their words? Or do you think you know what others are saying without really listening? Do you need to feel right or get caught up in arguments? Are you attached to your religious beliefs? Do you resist others’ beliefs or ideas? Do you listen to and trust your own intuition? Do you speak from your higher consciousness, free from self-censorship? Does your life have meaning? Are you comfortable with and perhaps even excited with the idea that you barely know anything about what is?

Current Transits: October 23 – November 20, 2014

Posted on
Category: Current Transits

by Barry Kerr

(Click here for a glossary of astrological terms.)

The Sun moves into Scorpio on October 23:

Scorpio’s spiritual intention is to strengthen our trust in spirit, to know that death, in any form, is but a rebirth of something new: that we are, as souls, immortal. Where change is demanded, Scorpio is there. Our life journey requires that we embrace our feelings and be vulnerable with others, knowing our ego will be challenged, and though it may feel like death upon us, it is actually yet another part of our soul, birthing through the fire of transformation with fuller expression into this world of time and space.  We then feel spirit, know our immortality and are happy to release people and things to live freely and playfully in this world of illusions, knowing we can never really lose their essence. Scorpio’s intensity invites our passionate delight in how spirit is hidden in the changes, deaths and rebirths of this world.

Full Moon: Nov 5-7

On November 6 at 4:22pm, the full Moon is in Taurus, opposite Scorpio. Invoke your earthy strengths of self-worth, self-resourcefulness, ownership, patience, and steadfastness as polar balances to your potentially turbulent Scorpio feelings. With Pluto, ruler of Scorpio, in a harmonic angle to the Sun and Moon, you are given a boost of confidence in your ability to feel empowered in your relating, especially if you honor Jupiter’s challenging tendency (90 degree) to go overboard with your power.

Mercury and Venus join the Sun and Saturn during most of November:

With Mercury (mind) and Venus (relationship, values) still in close proximity to the Sun at this time, they combine with Saturn (responsibility) to give extra Scorpion support to your capacity this month to examine, unearth, value and make use of your hidden dark secrets. Get vulnerable and invoke healing and growth.

Mars joins Pluto: Nov 7-13

Your sense of personal power, will and energy (Mars) is magnified by your relationship to the larger powers around you (Pluto). Be careful that your ego does not translate this into forcefulness, manipulation or coercion. The idea is to align your personal will with a greater, transcendent power. Otherwise, it’s “me versus the world”, when it could be “me becoming the world”. Chiron (wounds and healing) sextiling (60 degrees) Mars will offer empathic humbleness, while Uranus’s square (90 degrees) to Mars will inspire you to apply your will courageously. It may be good to aim it internally.

Good Scorpion questions to ask yourself into November:

Do you routinely honor and respect your own feelings and share them with trusted loved ones? Or stay hidden? How good are you at reading other people’s feelings? What do you do with that? Are you drawn to melodrama, in yourself or others? Jealous much? What’s behind that?  Do you ask directly for what you need, or do you manipulate? Do you resist cooperation? Do you lash out when feeling threatened? Have you learned the difference between interdependence and co-dependence? Are you confident about your immortality? Can you enthusiastically embrace change?

Astrological Update for Oct 9 – 23, 2014

by Barry Kerr

Mercury Retrograde Oct 4 – 25

What is this Mercury Retrograde thing people keep talking about? Several times each year, Mercury appears to move backward in the sky. We call this illusion “retrograde”.  It’s as if we here on earth are in a car that is passing another car on the highway and for a moment it appears that the other car is moving backward. Astrologically, it’s a time when our logical human minds are challenged to question, reconsider and otherwise invite important overlooked information into our awareness. This questioning is often precipitated by communications, transportation, agreements and other Mercurial matters seeming to get stuck or complicated or unraveling. In the face of these unforeseen troubles, we backtrack and apply our minds to rethinking what we started, thus, hopefully, gaining new insights and making adjustments.

Mercury started retrograde on Oct 4 in the sign of Scorpio, a water (feeling) sign. In this Libran month, as we seek to create deep and intimate bonds with others, our minds are now challenged to question how we are doing that, how do we bring our mindfulness to our intimate emotional relationships? When Mercury, retrograding, moves back into Libra on the 10th, the air (mental) quality of Libra will boost your minds ability to grasp the insights behind your emotional confusion. Use this time to ponder, ask questions, clear up misunderstandings, reform expectations. When Mercury goes direct (moves forward) on Oct 25, you will be in a better place to experience resolution and deeper intimacy in your relationships.

New Moon – Oct 22 – 24

The next New Moon is October 23, 4:56pm, at the very first degree of Scorpio. The ongoing Pluto/Uranus square now brings retrograding Mercury into the mix, thus focusing the mindful questioning on issues of freedom, independence, power and transformation of the ego. Since new moons set up emotional intentions at the beginning of each monthly cycle of manifestation, as we head into the month of Scorpio, you would do well to use this new moon to reap the harvest of the Mercury retrograde and set your intentions for your relationships with mindful clarity.

Good Libra questions to ask during this Mercury retrograde:

Give attention to how you are in relationships. Can you assert your boundaries even when it feels as though the other may reject you? Is your assertiveness and defensiveness impulsive or a conscious response to the other person? Are you truly curious about what’s going on in the other person? Do you look for win/win solutions? Are you open to learning about your self in situations of conflict? When you judge or praise others, can you see your self, too? Are you a pleaser, keeping a smile that covers your truth? Do your relationships support how you want to be in life?

Current Transits: September 25 – October 8, 2014

An Astrological Update by Barry Kerr

(Click here for a glossary of astrological terms.)

Sun in Libra

The Sun moved into Libra, sign of relationship, on the 22nd of September. Pluto (transformation, power, hidden) has been retrograde in Capricorn since last spring (meaning it has appeared from earth to be moving backward through the zodiac) and now turns direct (forward), just as the Sun enters Libra. Whatever has been hidden in relationships this past half year will now come to the surface, forcing a dramatic and transformative quake-like release of truth, demanding accountability.

New Moon – Sept 23 – 25

This Libra new moon, which actually lasts for three days, is a good time to set your intention to lift your relationship skills to a higher level during October.

During October

Jupiter in Leo is in a friendly trine (120 degrees) with Uranus in Aries, thus expanding your desire to express and assert your individuality in playful, creative and competitive ways, and with a Scorpio Saturn squaring Jupiter (90 degrees) and a Pisces Chiron in quincunx with Jupiter (150 degrees), be aware that you may doubt your own strengths and limit your opportunities to the lower expectations from past painful failures. Don’t look to others for recognition or assurances. It’s only your past wounds niggling at you, causing you to lose faith.

Trust your own wisdom, and with Mars in Sagittarius squaring Neptune in Pisces, make sure your assertions of truth are your own and not aimed at overpowering others’ beliefs. Otherwise, expect feedback.

This year, Venus (relationship) is tracking closely to the Sun, so it is home in Libra (relationship) this month, while Mercury (mind) enters Scorpio (intimacy), and then retrogrades back into Libra. The combined affect is to heighten your longing for committed connection to others while alerting your mind to the deeper, shadowy parts of relationship that challenge your ego, but lead to transformation.

Pluto/Uranus Square

Perhaps you’ve heard about the prolonged Pluto/Uranus square (90 degrees apart from each other) that started in early 2011. It is continuing a global theme of institutionalized power versus individual freedom and extends into 2015. Pluto (power), in Capricorn (responsibility), is currently squared with Uranus (individualism) in Aries (self-assertion). While also temporarily squared with the Sun and Venus in Libra, the invitation this month is to notice how the way you experience your personal relationships reflects on how you relate to the powers around and over you. This will come to a swell in late October when the Sun moves into Scorpio.

Full Moon – Oct 8 5:51am

Full Moons are a time of ripening in the lunar cycle, when our intentions for the month come to fruition. So, whatever you intended, consciously or not, at the last New Moon, will play out by now. With Venus next to the Sun opposite the Moon, you will notice an easy expression of warmth and affection with those around you, however you may experience more than the usual conflict between your needs and the needs of other people, causing some social discomfort. Finding a balance may prove difficult but will mean greater understanding of the give and take needed in relationships. Venus’s trine (60 degrees) with Mars and Uranus on the Moon will help you be assertive and able to motivate yourself because you have self-confidence and intuitive insight.

Pluto will be squaring (90 degrees) the Sun and Moon, so expect some drama and intensity. Do you want drama? If not, direct your intensity into creative pursuits at this time. You may feel reluctant to assert your needs, however be careful this does not translate to manipulation.

Self awareness tips during Libra

To evolve your Libra self, give attention to how you are in relationships. Do your relationships

Astrological Update for September, 2014

by Barry Kerr

(Click here for a glossary of astrological terms.)

During September, while the sun travels through practical and earnest Virgo, Venus also is in Virgo while Mercury, which rules Virgo, is in Libra. Venus, planet of relationships, and Libra, sign of relationships are inviting and supporting you to apply your super observant Virgo/Mercury mind toward how you create and experience your primary relationships. What do you notice? How do you give and receive feedback from the people in your life?

The Sun moves into Libra on the 22nd, kissing the new moon on Sept 24 at 1:13am CST, as Venus hovers nearby in Virgo. The new moon is always a good time to set fresh intentions, start toward new goals, and begin projects, so this one is the perfect time to set your intention to lift your relationship skills to a higher level during October.

Perhaps you’ve heard about the prolonged Pluto/Uranus square (90 degrees apart from each other) that started in early 2011. It is continuing a global theme of institutionalized power versus individual freedom and extends into 2015.

At this new moon, Jupiter in the sign of Leo comes into a friendly trine (120 degrees) with Uranus in Aries, thus expanding your desire to express and assert your individuality in playful, creative and competitive ways, and with a Scorpio Saturn squaring Jupiter (90 degrees) and a Pisces Chiron in quincunx with Jupiter (150 degrees), be aware that you may doubt your own strengths and limit your opportunities to the lower expectations from past painful failures.

Self awareness tips for Virgo

To evolve your Virgo self, pay attention to how you participate with others. Do you act on your feelings of compassion? Serve others effectively? Or just judge and criticize? How much does your mind analyze and categorize, notice details, trying to make order out of disorder? This is what our minds are designed to do, but it needs balance with our heart and intuition. Is your mind helping you create healthy routines, or causing obsessive and harmful habits? Or do you rebel against routines and order because you are disappointed with the world? Are you living primarily in your head, a mental cloud of disconnect from feelings, or are you grounding into your body and to the earth, feeling your feelings, and taking care of yourself?
